[00:00:00] Speaker A: This is the Morning Journey Rewind with Mark and Brittany. Never miss a moment.
[00:00:04] Speaker B: This month on the Morning Journey Rewind, Mark and Brittany get comments from you. Stella spoils another present for Brittany's dad. Have you ever had ham salad? And would you get a jumping spider as a pet? Britney definitely would not.
[00:00:19] Speaker C: I'd had chili all week and was eating a peanut butter sandwich. So Kathy wrote it and she said her husband, he's 75, he's always had a peanut butter sandwich with his chili. He said he's wondered for years if anyone would ever catch up.
And I actually learned that from you.
[00:00:33] Speaker D: Yes, you did. So, yeah, once you try it, I don't think you ever go back.
[00:00:38] Speaker C: I don't think so either. Now, Kathy didn't say if she does it with her husband, but she did say her husband has done it for all these years and now I do it. So spread the word. It's a good combo peanut butter sandwich with whatever chili you're eating. Goes really well together.
[00:00:51] Speaker D: Last week, we were talking about the things you should not do in a grocery store, like leaving your cart in the middle of the aisle.
[00:00:58] Speaker C: Yeah. And we also talked about, like, if you're going to snack while you shop to make sure you pay for it. This is not something that me and Mark do, but Hunter wrote in and he said, I've always done this. I've always had, like a drink or chips, whatever, while I was shopping. He said, I did it with my aunt one time and she threw a fit thinking that we were going to be accused of shoplifting. But he's like, I've just always done this and I've never thought anything of it. Now as long as you pay for it, he said, it's completely fine. And I think I'm trying to think if I've ever done this with Stella. I think maybe one time when she was little, I gave her like, a banana. And then, like, you have to, like, give them the peel, which is really awkward. So I don't recommend doing fruit because that's a hard one to pay for after you've eaten it.
But yeah. So Hunter does it all the time.
[00:01:40] Speaker D: Yeah. I have seen people eating potato chips in the grocery store.
[00:01:43] Speaker C: I mean, there might be something to this because if you don't, if you're not hungry while you shop, you might spend less money.
[00:01:48] Speaker D: Yeah, maybe that's. Maybe, maybe that's the subconscious thing.
[00:01:52] Speaker C: So maybe that's the trick to spending less. Snack while you shop.
[00:01:56] Speaker A: Your day starts with encouragement. The morning journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:02:00] Speaker D: I have already started my Christmas shopping, which is highly unusual for me because I don't usually get started till, like, after Thanksgiving.
[00:02:08] Speaker C: That's huge. I haven't even figured out what I want yet, much less what anyone else wants. But my dad just had a birthday, so we got presents for him.
And I put. Susan from our office gave me Count Dracula, which he loves, and so do I. So I put that in with his present. And then as soon as he came in the house, my daughter Stella was like, mom got you Count Chocula to eat for breakfast. So I went ahead and took that out so we could eat that on Saturday and Sunday. And then he goes to open his present on Saturday night. And he's like, stella, what's in the bag? And she goes, binoculars.
There's no secrets with her.
[00:02:43] Speaker D: She can't keep it inside.
[00:02:45] Speaker C: I know. So now I'm like, anything I get for Phil for Christmas, or for her, for that matter, I gotta hide from her. Cause she'll just tell everybody.
[00:02:52] Speaker A: Your day starts with Encour the morning journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:02:56] Speaker D: Last week here at the station, we were talking about what we were going to get for lunch. Somebody said that they were going to get chicken salad. That led to a conversation about ham salad. Have you ever tried ham salad? Brittany did not know that ham salad was a thing.
[00:03:11] Speaker C: No. We were looking at the menu, and I was, like, looking through all the options, and I was like, yeah, I want chicken salad. And then I saw ham salad, and I said, what is ham salad? So I had to look it up. And I was like, that is probably the grossest thing, like, I've ever heard of. Like, I don't understand why someone would take meat that's, like, not meant to be ground up and then grind it up and turn it into a salad. Now, I looked up at the ingredients, and it's not like, there's nothing gross in it. Like, I like ham and, like, it doesn't look bad. Like, it. Like. I mean, it doesn't look appetizing, but.
[00:03:41] Speaker D: Like, it looks like a.
Yeah, with a deviled egg there.
[00:03:44] Speaker C: Yeah, it looks like a tuna salad. Or like a.
Like a refined grind chicken salad. But, like, I don't understand why you grind hand up.
[00:03:53] Speaker D: You had a very strong reaction.
[00:03:55] Speaker C: Yeah, I feel like I'm gonna, like, throw up. Like, I don't understand why you would grind up meat that's not meant to be ground up and turn it into a salad. Like, it's one thing if it's tuna, because it's already, like, made like that chicken like. Or chicken like. You can shred chicken and turn it into a salad.
[00:04:12] Speaker D: You just can't handle the ham.
[00:04:13] Speaker C: Why would you do that with ham? Like, ham is fine by itself. Like, I don't know why you would, like, grind it in little bits like that.
[00:04:20] Speaker D: All right, so we have to get you some ham salad and have you try it, because you've never tried it.
[00:04:25] Speaker C: I haven't. And I like all the things in it, so I'm sure it tastes fine. If I can just get past, like.
[00:04:29] Speaker D: The look of it. This will be a learning experience. This will be a cultural experience.
[00:04:33] Speaker C: I'm going to be sick thinking about it. No, thank you. I don't want any ham salad.
[00:04:38] Speaker E: I just kind of channel surfing through the radio.
[00:04:41] Speaker A: Families are catching on, and I'm like.
[00:04:42] Speaker E: Wow, this is pretty cool.
[00:04:43] Speaker A: To the best way.
[00:04:44] Speaker E: Now this. This is the only thing I listen.
[00:04:46] Speaker A: To now to wake up.
[00:04:47] Speaker E: My style of Everything has started to change.
[00:04:49] Speaker A: It's the morning journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:04:51] Speaker D: If you have not started doing your Christmas shopping yet, might I suggest the jumping spider?
[00:04:57] Speaker C: No.
[00:04:58] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:04:58] Speaker C: We talked about this a while ago, and people are actually getting these as pets to, like, cure their arachnophobia. And I'm like, I don't think that would help me because they're tiny. So I got this text from Phil's sister.
[00:05:09] Speaker D: Tiny?
[00:05:09] Speaker C: Yeah. And she said, got a jumping spider. This is her house. And sent us a picture of her house. And I was like, well, her house is adorable, but I mean, aren't they tiny? So she sent me a picture of her. They are so small. And they jump.
[00:05:22] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:05:22] Speaker C: I'm like, how do you not lose these in the house?
And then she tells me, get this. When they jump, they leave web hanging out. So you can almost use it like a leash.
Absolutely not.
[00:05:36] Speaker D: Yeah, there you go.
[00:05:37] Speaker C: Absolutely not.
[00:05:37] Speaker D: Spider leash.
[00:05:38] Speaker C: And then she also texted me and said she's getting a baby tarantula this week, so I will not be staying with her for the foreseeable future because I am terrified of spiders.
[00:05:46] Speaker D: I think you need to get a jumping spider and get over this fear that you have. You can get them in, like, a lot of different colors. Peachy orange. See, you would like that.
[00:05:55] Speaker C: I would absolutely lose it. And then kill it.
[00:05:58] Speaker D: Inky black. Your daughter would love this.
[00:06:00] Speaker C: It would jump, and it would be gone. They're, like, this big around. They're, like, smaller than the size of a quarter.
[00:06:04] Speaker D: I think there might be a jumping spider under your Christmas tree.
[00:06:08] Speaker C: There better not be.
[00:06:09] Speaker A: I think there will be start on a positive note. You're on the Morning Journey with Mark.
[00:06:14] Speaker D: And Brittany Crowder, Zach Williams along with Matt Mar. They're all going to be at the Salem Civic center on November 20th. This is going to be a great night, fantastic concert and we were giving you an opportunity to win tickets.
[00:06:28] Speaker C: Yeah. So you might hear that song in the house at the concert. But we have some winners, some insider winners. Dana and Terry won via the Insider and then we have Linda and Randy and Donna, Emily and Wayne winning via the online signup. So congratulations.

[00:06:55] Speaker A: Good company makes for a great day. The Morning Journey with Mark and Brittany.

And you can help share that love when you partner with the Journey and pick up an online Operation Christmas Child shoebox and then fill that with gifts for a child. [00:07:50] Speaker D: You betcha.
[00:07:51] Speaker A: The Morning Journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:07:53] Speaker D: Caine is coming to Liberty Live church. This will be in Hampton Nov. 22. Each Caine concert, they're always a lot of fun because they revolve around a color.
[00:08:03] Speaker C: They do. Yeah. They always pick a color for the audience to wear. This time, the Hampton concert, the color is green.
And so right now on our Facebook page, my Journey fm, pinned to the top is a video of Kane. They're gonna do games at the concert too. Like it's gonna be a whole night of fun. Don't forget to wear green. We're asking if you wanna go post your picture wearing your best green in the comments on that video and you just might win tickets. I gotta figure out What I'm gonna wear?
[00:08:29] Speaker D: Yeah, I think. Well, I think you should go as a bell pepper.
[00:08:32] Speaker C: A bell pepper?
[00:08:33] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:08:33] Speaker C: That could be kind of funny. I wonder if I could find a bell pepper costume. So wear your best green. Take a photo, post it on our Facebook page. My Journey FM under the Cane video. And you just might win tickets to see them. Coming up in Hampton on the 22nd start.
[00:08:47] Speaker A: On a positive note, you're on the Morning Journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:08:52] Speaker D: I would think that moms are so busy today that it would be very easy to neglect your health and neglect your fitness.
[00:09:00] Speaker C: Yep. And so on Diary of the Mom Squad. This month we had the pleasure of interviewing Heather Mills. She is the owner of Fitzpatrick six ten, and she gives us some tips as to how to get into those healthy habits as we head into the holidays so that the holidays don't completely derail us. How to have fun and enjoy those things that we love, but also just those small little habits that can make a huge difference. Things that don't take up any extra time. And it just makes it so much easier to just stay on track. And so if you want to learn more, if you want to listen to that interview, you can find
[email protected] under our podcast. Click on the link. But yeah, thank you to Heather for coming in. And if you want to learn more about her and fit 610, that is the way to do it.
[00:09:39] Speaker A: From the alarm to the workplace, helping you start your day.
[00:09:42] Speaker D: I'm on my way to work.
[00:09:43] Speaker A: It's the Morning Journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:09:46] Speaker D: The Journey staff got together yesterday. We had an opportunity to preview a movie that is coming out early next year. I can only imagine two.
[00:09:55] Speaker C: Yeah. I must say it was really, really good. Highly encourage you to see it when it comes out. It's.
It's a little bit about Bart and his son and it's a little bit about someone you might not know. Tim Timmons. And so overall, really good. I don't think they're. I think Mark, you were the only, like dry eye in the room. I think everybody else cried at least once. So definitely emotional. You'll definitely need your tissues for sure. But it kind of follows along those stories. And the song not I can only Imagine two because there's only one of those. But the song even if and how that came to be and so great movie. Excited for it to come out in theaters the beginning of next year.
[00:10:29] Speaker B: You guys always make me smile.
[00:10:31] Speaker A: The Morning Journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:10:34] Speaker D: We've been talking about all the concerts that have already happened and then are coming up through the end of November, and we hope you get to enjoy those. As part of our 10 year anniversary celebration, we wanted to share in those and share those with you.
[00:10:49] Speaker C: Yeah, we've been giving away a lot of tickets to a lot of different concerts. And Melissa wrote in, she said, I just wanted to say thank you so much for the tickets to the Toby Mack concert. It did my soul well. I lost my husband in July, and that concert was the ministry that I needed. I cried, I laughed, I felt God in that place. You did more than just give me tickets. You gave me food for my soul. This has been a hard season for my life, and your station has played an integral part in making me feel better. To say thank you just isn't enough. We also met another Journey winner while I was there.
[00:11:19] Speaker D: Wow.
[00:11:20] Speaker C: Aw. I love that.
[00:11:21] Speaker D: Thank you for sharing that.
[00:11:22] Speaker C: Thank you so much, Melissa, for sharing. And really, you know, you think you're just winning tickets to a concert, but where the Holy Spirit is, you know, there can be life change. And so thank you for listening, thank you for participating in our giveaways, and thank you for going to these concerts and supporting our artist. Oh, the phone's ringing. Wonder who this could be. Hi, what's your name?
[00:11:41] Speaker E: Esther. And I'm the buffalo gal that called in and won tickets for Toby Mac. I was your last winner.
[00:11:48] Speaker C: Oh, awesome.
[00:11:49] Speaker D: Great.
[00:11:50] Speaker E: Yeah. And I heard you read Melissa's note of thank you. We were actually sitting next to Melissa at the concert.
[00:11:57] Speaker D: Oh, wow. No way. Okay.
[00:11:59] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:12:00] Speaker E: In fact, all the dirty winners were in the same row.
[00:12:04] Speaker C: That's so cool.
[00:12:05] Speaker D: Did you enjoy the concert?
[00:12:07] Speaker E: Oh, man, it was amazing. Yes. Just like Melissa said. We smiled, we cried. It was so beautiful to see all the artists there just witnessing and just, you know, singing praises and singing to every single song. Because we have the Journey on practically all the time.
Just like you announced during school pickup and driving everywhere to work, youth group and. Yeah, so we just basically have you on the whole time.
But yeah, to be there and to experience the joy of being with other believers and just hearing the music was all such a tremendous blessing. So thank you for all that you all do.
[00:12:51] Speaker D: Well, we're thrilled that you were able to go.
[00:12:54] Speaker A: Thanks for catching up on the morning Journey Rewind podcast with Mark and Brittany.
