[00:01:51] Speaker A: You're on the Morning Journey with Mark and Brittany. [00:01:55] Speaker C: I'm have to start eating cereal again. [00:01:57] Speaker D: Why? [00:01:57] Speaker C: I mean, like the sugary cereal. [00:01:59] Speaker D: Oh, okay. [00:02:01] Speaker C: They're starting to put the toys back in the cereal boxes. [00:02:05] Speaker D: Are they really? [00:02:06] Speaker C: Yeah. So I had the same reaction you are having when I read this the other day. Kellogg's is doing this. This is a Promotion for the upcoming Toy Story 5 movie that's due out in June. So the toys will be characters from the movie. [00:02:23] Speaker D: No way. [00:02:24] Speaker C: Yeah. So those will be in Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, and special edition boxes. [00:02:30] Speaker D: I'm so excited for this. I' forget my favorite toy that I ever got from a cereal box. I had a Lion King spoon that would change colors when you put it in milk, like, based on the temperature or whatever. That was my favorite, like, thing. That was so cool. [00:02:44] Speaker C: So they were supposed to be released on Sunday. [00:02:48] Speaker D: Okay. [00:02:48] Speaker C: And so I. No, I had to go to the grocery store. [00:02:50] Speaker D: Oh, you've looked already. [00:02:52] Speaker C: Wow. [00:02:52] Speaker D: You were prepared. [00:02:52] Speaker C: I already looked to see the grocery store. They did not have them. [00:02:56] Speaker D: No. [00:02:57] Speaker C: Where I shop now. [00:02:58] Speaker D: I'll look today. [00:03:00] Speaker C: Yeah, you have to check out your Apple Jacks, Fruit Loops, Corn Flakes, Corn Pops. Look for the special edition Kellogg's brand. Kellogg's. [00:03:07] Speaker D: Yeah. Okay. All right. I'll look today and see if I can find them. [00:03:09] Speaker C: Here's the thing. [00:03:10] Speaker D: We have to dig through them. [00:03:11] Speaker C: Well, and I. They're going to go quick. [00:03:13] Speaker D: I know. Because everybody's so excited. [00:03:15] Speaker C: And it's going to be the adults that are going to buy them because we all remember the excitement that we. [00:03:20] Speaker D: That was, like, the best thing ever. Why did they keep doing that? [00:03:23] Speaker C: Yeah, well, some of it was for, like, choking hazards with the toys. One point, there was a. A toy watch that was released, but they found out the watch had mercury in it, so they didn't want that in the. [00:03:35] Speaker D: Yeah, that'll do it. That'll do it. [00:03:36] Speaker C: But some of the toys are still sold on ebay. [00:03:39] Speaker D: Oh, okay. I wonder if I could find my Lion King spoon. I bet I could. [00:03:43] Speaker C: I don't know. [00:03:43] Speaker D: You should. You should try to see. [00:03:45] Speaker C: There was one going back to the 1950s. [00:03:49] Speaker D: Whoa. That's crazy. [00:03:50] Speaker C: Let's see. Yeah. From a 1950s box of Kellogg's Corn Flakes. It's a tiny plastic atomic submarine. [00:03:58] Speaker D: Oh, that's kinda cool. [00:03:59] Speaker C: From the 1950s. [00:04:00] Speaker D: I missed this. This was so fun. Like, you would just. I would really, like, try to dump all the cereal out and just dig [00:04:05] Speaker C: through there and get the toy. [00:04:06] Speaker D: And then it's gross. Cause your hand's all in it trying to get the toy out. That's probably why they did it, actually. But yeah. Okay. So I'll look today and see if I can find it. And I love Toy Story, too, so this is even more exciting. Yay. [00:04:18] Speaker C: And I were very excited because we found out that Kellogg's is bringing toys back to some of their boxes of cereal. This is part of the promotion for the UPCO Toy Story 5 movie. [00:04:29] Speaker D: Also. 5. Like, can we talk about this Toy Story 5? [00:04:33] Speaker C: Is that hard to believe? [00:04:34] Speaker D: It's hard to believe, yeah. It seems unnecessary. [00:04:36] Speaker C: I think I've seen 1, 2, and 3. [00:04:40] Speaker D: I've seen them all. [00:04:41] Speaker C: 4. Have you? [00:04:41] Speaker D: But like, 5. I know. [00:04:43] Speaker C: Yeah. So I checked my grocery store actually over the weekend. I checked it on Sunday. There were no toys in any of the boxes yet. [00:04:52] Speaker D: No. [00:04:52] Speaker C: You were going to check yesterday at your grocery store? [00:04:55] Speaker D: I did. I checked yesterday, and there was no toys. They're still doing, like, Minecraft stuff. And that's like, scan the back of the box for something. It's not like, in the box. [00:05:04] Speaker C: In the box. [00:05:04] Speaker D: Right. And then I think they did Mario stuff, because my daughter. They did, like, a build something out of the box for Mario, and so we did that. But that, again, wasn't, like, a toy in the box. So I'm just waiting. And let's see. When does the Toy story movie come out? Because it's got to be soon, right? [00:05:21] Speaker C: I think it comes out in June is when I think that's what I read. [00:05:24] Speaker D: Okay, so maybe by then. Yeah, June 19th. So maybe beginning of June. [00:05:29] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:05:29] Speaker D: Which means they have to wait a whole nother month. [00:05:30] Speaker C: So they were supposed to start, and it must be limited locations, I guess, because it was. They were supposed to start having the toys in the boxes this past Sunday. [00:05:39] Speaker D: Right. [00:05:39] Speaker C: So. But I have a feeling that might be, like, limited locations, maybe larger markets or whatever, closer. So hopefully ours. Well, I think what's going to happen, though, is the boxes are going to be hard to find because adults will be collecting 100%. [00:05:54] Speaker D: We're gonna go crazy for these. So I'm. I'm hoping I'm gonna keep looking, but hopefully we'll find them in stores soon. And as soon as we do, we'll let you know and we'll bring them in here and open them up and see who got what toy. Yeah, I can't wait. I'm stoked. [00:06:08] Speaker A: Good company makes for a great day. The morning journey with Mark and Brittany. [00:06:14] Speaker C: Last week, Brittany had told us that her daughter Stella participated in her very first race. Now, the first race, she was just trying to figure everything out, what was happening. So she had race number two, I guess, over the weekend. [00:06:26] Speaker D: Yeah, it's every week, and it's part of the healthy kids running series. And so the first one, the megaphone, scared her, and she said the voice Was too loud. So she says the second race they actually redid the distances to make them more accurate. And so the cones to like the little flag corral was a lot further of a distance. So I was like, well, we need to make sure she knows to run to the flags. And so my husband started running with her and she started to run to the, towards my husband instead of like down the straight line of the corral. And then she finally figured it out. The good news is she's having a great time. [00:06:57] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:06:58] Speaker D: The bad news is she's been last or second to last every week so far. But that's okay. It's all about having fun and learning how to compete at this age. And so I did realize I kind of had a parent fail over the weekend because they do a little stretch beforehand and they were doing jumping jacks. I realized my daughter has no idea how to do a jumping jack. [00:07:16] Speaker C: She'd never done them before. [00:07:17] Speaker A: No. [00:07:18] Speaker D: It's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen though. Her trying to do a jumping jack. Adorable. But then I felt bad and I was like, okay, this week we're gonna work on learning how to do jumping jacks so that we can do those properly. But yeah, so she's having fun. And I mean, really, at this age, that's all that matters. [00:07:33] Speaker E: I just kind of channel surfing through the radio. [00:07:36] Speaker A: Families are catching on and I'm like, [00:07:38] Speaker E: wow, this is pretty cool. [00:07:38] Speaker A: To the best way. [00:07:39] Speaker E: So now this is the only thing I listen to now to wake up. My style of everything has started and changed. [00:07:44] Speaker A: It's the morning journey with Mark and Brittany. [00:07:46] Speaker C: One of the things you had to do was get Stella ready for her dance photos. [00:07:52] Speaker D: Yes. So they had their dance recital photos last night and it was during their normal class time. But that means I had to get her in full hair and makeup and her outfit on for these pictures. [00:08:03] Speaker C: Now, does she like going through all of that or no? [00:08:05] Speaker D: Well, she's not too bad about it, but having a three year old sit still that long is always difficult, especially when you're trying to put like liquid eyeliner on. Like, I can't even do that to myself, much less my child. So all in all, I think it turned out pretty good. I posted a picture on my Facebook page of me and her side by side in our dance getups because I was probably 6 in my photo and she's 3. But they look so cute, especially when they're that little. They look adorable. It's kind of worth the effort. But I don't Know how much longer we'll do dance? I think she's starting to lose interest. [00:08:38] Speaker C: May not be her, might not be. [00:08:40] Speaker D: But I told her she had to do the recital. And so we got the photos done and then they're going to put them in a yearbook so she'll have those. But I mean, even trying to get the picture before the class, before they took the professional photos was hard. She started to back up into the bush and I was like, don't get in the bush to mess your hair up. But yeah, I need to work on my hair skills before the recital. That's for sure. [00:08:59] Speaker A: Uplifting and encouraging because you need it now more than ever. [00:09:03] Speaker C: You betcha. [00:09:04] Speaker A: The Morning Journey with Mark and Brittany. [00:09:06] Speaker C: Well, you may be a football fan, you may cheer, you may, if you're watching from home, maybe even stand up, maybe on occasion even yell at the television. [00:09:15] Speaker D: I do all of those things. [00:09:16] Speaker C: Yeah. I've never heard of this, though. There was a guy watching a Monday Night Football game this past year. The Giants New England Patriots. The Giants kicker whiffed on a field goal attempt. This guy started laughing so hard he had a seizure. [00:09:31] Speaker D: I've never heard of this either. I've also never heard of coughing so hard that you can have a heart attack. But that happened to Laura in afternoons. And so, yeah, he laughed so hard, he. He said he felt like he got electrocuted, ended up having a seizure. They took him to the er. He had a CT scan that revealed a tennis sized tumor on the left side of his brain. Thankfully, it wasn't cancerous. They were able to remove it. He's gonna be fine. But that kick, that missed kick saved his life basically because they never would have found the tumor without it. [00:10:00] Speaker C: Yeah, exactly. But just a bizarre story. His wife, actually, she is a nurse and she knew exactly what to do. And so they called the paramedics and everything and then fortunately, everything turned out okay. But I just can't imagine that you're laughing that hard that it triggers a seizure. [00:10:19] Speaker D: Now I've yelled so hard I thought I'm gonna have an aneurysm watching the commanders play. So, you know, I can see that happening. But yeah, laughing so hard you have a seizure. Well, thank goodness he did because he was able to get that tumor removed. But pretty crazy start. [00:10:34] Speaker A: On a positive note, you're on the Morning Journey with Mark and Brittany. [00:10:39] Speaker C: The big thanks to those of you that may be tuning in this morning listening to the My Journey FM app. We've got our app or map the app campaign going on you. If you're listening to the app, just click that link and that'll take you to a our Facebook page, where you can leave a comment. Let us know where you're listening. We want to say hello to Martin. He's listening in Sweden. [00:11:01] Speaker D: That's pretty impressive. Good morning, I think. I don't know what time it is in Sweden right now. Maybe it's night. So good morning, afternoon, or night to you, Martin. [00:11:10] Speaker C: But thank you for listening. [00:11:11] Speaker D: Yeah. All the way from Sweden. And so that's what mapping the app is all about. We love to hear where you're listening from, whether it's a different locality or a different country all across the world. [00:11:37] Speaker F: We're just gonna worship, we're gonna be encouraged, and we're just gonna be together. [00:11:42] Speaker A: That's the idea. You're on the morning journey with Mark and Brittany. [00:11:47] Speaker C: You had your baby shower. Now, not only did you have the baby shower, you were also hosting it. [00:11:51] Speaker D: I was, yes. So everybody got to see the house for the first time, which is a lot of fun. And we have a big island in our kitchen, and so we put most of the food on that, but I ended up with two cakes and wow. So I'm very excited. Yeah. The girls who threw it for me did a fantastic job. We had tons of food, lots of people. It was great because people came in from out of town, too, which was a lot of fun, but also kind of hard because I didn't really get to spend time with them outside of the baby shower. But, yeah, just super grateful. And now I have to go through and actually, like, set up the nursery. So the whole house was set up, [00:12:23] Speaker C: but you got everything for the nursery. [00:12:25] Speaker D: And now that we have everything, all the stuff, all this week, I'll be going through and setting up the nursery. [00:12:30] Speaker C: There you go. [00:12:31] Speaker D: Oh, and we have a name now. I guess I can tell everybody. [00:12:33] Speaker C: Okay. [00:12:33] Speaker D: Everybody at the shower knows now. [00:12:35] Speaker C: Yeah. Now we. Stella has already named her. [00:12:38] Speaker D: Stella has already named brother. And the funny thing was a lot of people wrote in their cards, like, happy, like, shower to Cornelius, or wrote on, like, the food. Things like Cornelius's snacks. [00:12:50] Speaker C: You know, that's going to be his name. [00:12:51] Speaker D: It's definitely going to be his nickname amongst friends for sure. But we couldn't actually, like, name him that. We felt bad. Although we have been calling. So the name is going to be Maxwell. [00:13:01] Speaker C: Okay. Yeah. [00:13:02] Speaker D: So we're going to call him Max for short. Very good. Max and Stella. Yeah. So not Cornelius. And if you ask Stella, it is still Cornelius. She gets very mad. [00:13:09] Speaker C: If you could be Maxwell Cornelius. [00:13:11] Speaker D: No, not doing it. Could be, could be, but it won't [00:13:14] Speaker A: be a great way to start your day. The Morning journey with Mark and Brittany. [00:13:20] Speaker C: Well, a man showed up at a livestock auction in Alabama. He had a rooster that he wanted to auction off, but it wasn't for him. It was actually for a family whose child was facing some serious medical issues. Word got around what was happening, and the rooster was auctioned and sold. Then the buyer put the rooster back on the auction block, and it happened again and again and again. [00:13:47] Speaker D: Now, I don't know much about livestock, but I imagine roosters aren't really worth a ton of money. And so the first time, it only sold for about $70, which, if you're trying to raise money for someone basing medical bills, you know, $70 doesn't seem like a lot. But the next person heard about why the rooster is being auctioned and said, you know what? I'm going to keep doing this. And they ended up raising over $5,000 for this family whose son was battling some medical conditions. Now the baby is off a ventilator, holding strong. Everything is looking up for the family, but it's just such a testament to what you can do when the community comes together and even over something like a rooster. Like, I wouldn't personally want a rooster, but I like the idea of being able to raise money and then resell the thing so I don't have to take it home. [00:14:27] Speaker C: Yeah. People that were there, they say that's what community looks like. [00:14:31] Speaker D: It really is. [00:14:32] Speaker A: Yep. [00:14:32] Speaker D: That is for sure. And so $70 rooster now worth $5,300. [00:14:37] Speaker C: Yeah. Amazing. [00:14:38] Speaker F: We're just going to worship, we're going to be encouraged, and we're just going to be together. [00:14:43] Speaker A: That's the idea. You're on the Morning journey with Mark and Brittany. [00:14:48] Speaker C: Brittany has something new in her life that she is doing now. [00:14:51] Speaker D: Yes. I love this. The forest farmers market is, like, now becoming probably a staple for us now. We didn't take my daughter this weekend because if you know anything about the forest farmers market, there's a playground there. So if we took her, we would have been there all day. Now, normal Saturdays we will probably take her and let her join us, but this Saturday, we did not. So we went, just the two of us. And I love supporting local, but a lot of times when you do, it's more expensive. [00:15:15] Speaker C: It is. [00:15:15] Speaker D: Because you know where it's coming from. You know, it's good quality and all that. So it ends up being more expensive than the grocery store. But I will say we got bacon, four pounds of ground beef a butt, chicken thighs, short ribs, and five of their, like, organic meat sticks at this place. [00:15:31] Speaker C: Okay. [00:15:31] Speaker D: And I thought it was going to be well over $300 for all of that meat easily as like, if you bought that at the grocery store, we're probably looking at $300. It was 150 bucks. [00:15:41] Speaker C: Really? [00:15:41] Speaker D: That's it, $150. [00:15:43] Speaker C: Wow. [00:15:44] Speaker D: So I was like, you know what? This might be our, like, I mean, that will last us quite a while. So this, like, might be every two weeks, once a month, staple. Just go and get a bunch of meat. [00:15:53] Speaker C: No, that's really good. [00:15:54] Speaker D: That was a really good deal and I was really impressed. So, yeah, this is going to be a new thing for us. We're going to be at the forest farmer's market. So fancy. [00:16:02] Speaker C: There's usually some good dessert type things at a farmer's market. Homemade. And usually there is. [00:16:09] Speaker D: Yes. Our sweet indulgence bakery that we do tasty treats with. They're there. There's a lot of different sourdough places, dessert places, lots of vegetable places. And so. Yeah. And again, though, if you have a kid, beware because there is a playground, so you might be there all day. [00:16:25] Speaker B: You guys always make me smile. [00:16:27] Speaker A: The morning journey with Mark and Brittany. [00:16:30] Speaker C: Well, maybe you've got a goal that you have set. Perhaps it's exercise, wanting to get in some better shape. And you're. You're going at it daily. Just a little bit of encourage there that you are further along than you may realize. [00:16:43] Speaker D: Yeah. A lot of times we're so focused on where we're going, we forget where we've come from. So appreciate your progress. You know, you survived every hard day. So if you're keeping score, you know, that's a perfect record. You've survived it, you've gotten through it. And each day that you're chugging a word to long along towards your goal, make sure you take time to look back and see where the Lord has brought you through in those moments and what you've accomplished so far. It's April. I mean, four months into the year, maybe you've already accomplished one of your New Year's resolutions. Good job. [00:17:15] Speaker A: Thanks for catching up on the morning Journey Rewind podcast with Mark and Brittany.
