[00:00:00] Speaker A: This is the Morning journey Rewind with Mark and Brittany. Never miss a moment.
[00:00:04] Speaker B: This week on the morning Journey Rewind. Mark and Brittany are finally back together. Brittany gets to throw out the first pitch at a baseball game and she runs to prove a point. The journey partner invitation is coming up soon. And Mark and Brittany play name or not with college football players. Names. Also, don't forget to vote for the morning journey with Mark and Brittany for Lynchburg Living's best of Brittany came back
[00:00:24] Speaker C: last week and I decided to go on vacation.
[00:00:27] Speaker D: I had been gone, so I had a baby. So I've been out for that. And then I come back and Mark's like, see you later. So this is the first time we worked together in two months. Where did you go? What did you do?
[00:00:37] Speaker C: So I went down to Atlanta and we saw a couple of Braves games. Saw the Braves beat the Dodgers twice. They actually won the whole series.
[00:00:45] Speaker D: Oh, wow.
[00:00:45] Speaker C: And so we did that. And then on the trip we also went by the Coca Cola factory. So that was.
[00:00:52] Speaker D: I still have not done that.
[00:00:53] Speaker C: And then we saw the Chick Fil A headquarters.
Got to see that. Got a tour of the Braves stadium. Truest field. Got on the field and the dugout and all the behind the scenes stuff.
[00:01:06] Speaker D: So that's cool.
[00:01:07] Speaker C: Yeah, it was a great trip.
[00:01:07] Speaker D: Had a good time, a lot of fun. Very cool. Yeah, I've actually been to a Braves game that is one of the few major league baseball stadiums I've been to. That and the Orioles, I think are the only two.
[00:01:17] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:01:17] Speaker D: I had a chance to see whatever. What's the one in Chicago?
[00:01:22] Speaker C: Wrigley.
[00:01:22] Speaker D: Yes, I had a chance.
[00:01:23] Speaker C: I've been to Wrigley.
[00:01:24] Speaker D: No, I had a chance to go and we decided not to join the family for that and like sightsee around Chicago because we had never been before.
Kind of regret not going to that one. So maybe someday I'll get back there. But yeah, the Braves is a pretty cool place to go.
[00:01:36] Speaker C: Yeah, it is. That's a beautiful ballpark.
[00:01:38] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:01:38] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:01:39] Speaker D: So now we're finally both back, back on the morning show. Just like normal.
Yeah. So we were talking about baseball earlier. Mark was gone. He went to a baseball game. I went to the faith and family night at the Hill City Howlers and we worked it for the journey and we had a really good time. But one thing that happened to me that I never thought would happen to me, I got to throw out the first pitch.
[00:02:00] Speaker C: Did you?
[00:02:01] Speaker D: I did. I was so excited. It was like the coolest thing ever. I never thought that would happen to me.
They came by, one of the people who were supposed to do it didn't show up, and they're like, does somebody from the journey want to do it? And Deborah and Matty were like, brittany.
And so I will say I did not embarrass us. The form was good. It made it to the catcher good. So all things considered, it was pretty good.
[00:02:21] Speaker C: That's always the key there to make it to the catcher.
[00:02:23] Speaker D: I don't think it was a strike, but we got it to the plate.
[00:02:26] Speaker A: Uplifting and encouraging because you need it now more than ever.
[00:02:31] Speaker C: You betcha.
[00:02:32] Speaker A: The morning journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:02:34] Speaker D: Well, it's been hot out, and so I haven't wanted to be outside, basically, at all. But I decided the other day that I was gonna get outside and do a little walk, slash run, only to prove a point.
[00:02:46] Speaker C: Now, when's the last time you ran?
[00:02:48] Speaker D: It's been, oh, my goodness, a very long time. Probably since before I got pregnant. Like, when I found out I was pregnant, I was like, I'm not running anymore. So it's been at least probably nine months.
So I had a library book, and we are located next to Ollie's and Candler station, and it was from the curriculum library on Liberty university's campus, which is past the football field behind DeMoss, if you know anything about the campus there. And so I told my husband, I said, I will after the show when we're done, go over there and drop it off, but I'm going to walk over there or run over there, and then I'll still be home in time to feed Max, my son. And he said, there's no way.
He said, it's at least a mile and a half there and back. So like, almost three miles round trip. And I haven't ran in nine months. And I said, I can do it. So because I am competitive, sure enough, I walked there because it's very hilly, and I was like, I'm not ready to run. And even walking hurt. And I was like, maybe I'm not going to make it. And then I hit the football field on the way back, and I was like, well, it's downhill from here. So I ran the rest of the way I was and was home in time to, like, feed the child.
[00:03:54] Speaker C: So you made it.
[00:03:55] Speaker D: I made it. And I made it in time to shower even. So. Look at that.
[00:03:59] Speaker C: Look at that.
[00:04:00] Speaker D: I walked in and I was like, don't tell me I can't do something because I did it.
[00:04:05] Speaker C: We're just going to worship we're going
[00:04:07] Speaker B: to be encouraged and we're just going to be together.
[00:04:11] Speaker A: That's the idea. You're on the morning Journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:04:15] Speaker C: Well, the journey partner invitation now just a couple of weeks away. September 22nd through the 25th. And then kids giving day is the Monday before. That'll be on the 21st. So it's a great opportunity for you to support the journey. The journey is a listener supported radio ministry. We appreciate all of the people listening and supporting this ministry.
[00:04:38] Speaker D: We love partner invitation because we get to share with you stories of life change that happened through the ministry here at the Journey all year long. It's only four days and so we hope that you will join us, be praying about how you might get involved. And if you want to go ahead and give early because you might forget or, or you just don't want to know. Like, you know, you just might not have time during those four days, then you can give early. Right now@myjourney fm.com youm can click the red donate heart. If you're listening via the app, there's a gray heart at the bottom that you can tap to give as well.
I just kind of channel surfing through the radio.
[00:05:09] Speaker A: Families are catching on and I'm like,
[00:05:11] Speaker C: wow, this is pretty cool.
[00:05:11] Speaker A: To the best way.
[00:05:12] Speaker D: So now this is the only thing
[00:05:13] Speaker A: I listen to now to wake up.
[00:05:15] Speaker D: My style of everything has started and changed.
[00:05:17] Speaker A: It's the morning journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:05:20] Speaker C: Well, the NFL season starts next Wednesday night. That'll be the Patriots versus the Seattle Seahawks in that one. Then a couple games or another game on Thursday and then everybody in action next Sunday.
[00:05:34] Speaker D: Yeah, fall really does mean football. And so I got a little game for you this morning.
These are college football names.
[00:05:42] Speaker C: College football.
[00:05:42] Speaker D: College football.
[00:05:43] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:05:43] Speaker D: So I'm going to read you these names and you're going to tell me if this is a real name or not.
[00:05:48] Speaker C: Oh, goodness.
[00:05:48] Speaker D: So we're gonna play name or not.
[00:05:50] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:05:50] Speaker D: Goose Crowder.
[00:05:53] Speaker C: I'm gonna say that is a real name.
[00:05:56] Speaker D: That is a real name. Hey, what about this one? Hollywood Smothers.
[00:06:03] Speaker C: No, it is. It is a real name.
[00:06:06] Speaker D: It is a real name. This one might be one of my favorites. Name or not? Da. Realist Clark.
[00:06:13] Speaker C: Derealist Clark. Yeah, I'm gonna say yes.
[00:06:19] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:06:20] Speaker C: All right.
[00:06:20] Speaker D: Correct. So two out of three. Not bad. I'll give you a chance for some more here a little bit later. But yeah, the real college players names. So we're gonna, we're gonna keep doing that a little bit later. This morning. But those are some good ones. I think I like the realists the best.
[00:06:36] Speaker C: The Realist.
College football. There are a bunch of games this weekend and we are now continuing our Name or not?
[00:06:48] Speaker D: Yes. Name or not? Mark. Okay, here you go. Gideon. Espn. Lampron.
[00:06:55] Speaker C: Okay, so these are college football.
[00:06:56] Speaker D: College football players. Yes or no?
[00:06:59] Speaker C: I'm going to say no.
That's a name. It's got ESPN in it.
[00:07:04] Speaker D: Yes. The middle name is espn. All Caps.
[00:07:07] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:07:08] Speaker D: Yep. What about this one? I like this one. Legend Journey.
[00:07:12] Speaker C: Legend Journey.
I'm going to say no.
[00:07:21] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:07:21] Speaker C: Wow. These are all yeses. Okay.
[00:07:23] Speaker D: I like this one because you know the Journey. Legend Journey.
[00:07:26] Speaker C: That's a good name.
[00:07:27] Speaker D: And then this one.
D Dash. Icy. D, I, C. Hopkins.
[00:07:34] Speaker C: I'm going to say yes, it is. Wow.
[00:07:36] Speaker D: And he plays for Liberty University.
[00:07:39] Speaker C: Does he?
[00:07:39] Speaker D: Okay, I see Hopkins.
[00:07:41] Speaker C: All right, so what did I get? Four, I think. Or five?
[00:07:44] Speaker D: You got three out of six.
[00:07:46] Speaker C: So you were three out of six? 50. 50.
[00:07:49] Speaker D: And it was kind of a trick because they were all names, every single one of them. I just, I mean, you know, every once in a while you get a crazy name. The ESPN one really gets me, though.
[00:07:58] Speaker C: Yeah, that's the one I did not think would be. I didn't think that was a real name.
[00:08:02] Speaker D: I didn't either. But, you know, there you go. Now you can cheer for them as they take on the college football world this season.
[00:08:09] Speaker A: Start on a positive note. You're on the Morning Journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:08:15] Speaker C: Hey, you can vote for the Morning journey for Lynchburg Living's best radio DJs. Now, many of you already voted for us in the preliminary round, and so we're asking you now to vote in the finalist round.
[00:08:28] Speaker D: Yes, we would love your votes. Once again, myjourneyfm.com for all the details. You can vote one time. That's it. But you do have to vote again. If you voted in the preliminaries, you have until September 15th to do so. And we would so, so appreciate it. I turn y' all on in the morning when I get in my truck. It's helpful when I'm taking the kids to school. Here we go.
[00:08:47] Speaker A: It's the Morning Journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:08:49] Speaker C: Hey, if you're listening on the My Journey FM app. Well, welcome. Great to have you listening in. Let us know where you're listening. You can do that when you tap map the app.
[00:08:59] Speaker D: Yeah, it's super easy to do. We've loved traveling with you over the summer and maybe you're listening constantly on the app. Cause you're not in our immediate listening.
We would love to know that as well. But we've been all over the country, all over the world this summer. So thank you for letting us know where you're listening from. And you can leave comments on the app as well. We would love to hear from you. Tell us why you're listening, tell us your favorite song and what it means to you. And map the app with us.
[00:09:23] Speaker A: A great way to start your day. The morning journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:09:27] Speaker C: This is the first time in what, two months that we've worked together.
[00:09:33] Speaker D: Lots happened.
[00:09:34] Speaker C: Yeah. So a child and then your oldest child, Stella. She started school yesterday.
[00:09:40] Speaker D: She did? Yep. She is back at school now. She's in a new class. So they moved all of the kids up to the four year old class and she got put in a separate four year old class away from her friends.
[00:09:49] Speaker C: Uh oh.
[00:09:50] Speaker D: And so I was worried she'd be upset and she said I was a little nervous, but mostly happy because she loves like meeting new people. So it went well. The first day was great. So I'm excited to see how today goes. And she also is back doing soccer again for the fall. Ah, look, she told me she wanted to do it.
[00:10:07] Speaker C: Did she pick up from where she was last year?
[00:10:10] Speaker D: It's about the same as last year.
She like, still doesn't understand the concept of like, there's only one ball and she has to go get it and she gets frustrated. And so the pictures, we have one picture of her touching the ball on Saturday and then one picture of her like laying and pouting on the blanket. And that's mostly what she did was pout on the blanket. So. But she told the coach she loved playing soccer at the end of the game. And I just went, are you sure you do? Because it doesn't look like it, but yeah. So we're back into all the activities. It is fall, even though it feels like summer, because 90 degrees outside.
[00:10:44] Speaker A: Start on a positive note. You're on the morning journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:10:50] Speaker C: Hey, if you haven't done so already, you can get signed up for the journey music crew. This is a great way to connect with the journey. Also, you are helping us pick the songs we play.
[00:10:59] Speaker D: Yeah. We've had a lot of new songs over the summer. I've been out. And so the music crew is coming back. It'll come back in the middle of September, like the week of the 16th. And so if you want to be a part of the crew, you're automatically entered in to win a prize. When you fill out that survey, it really does affect what we play here and we'd love to know the top 10 songs as voted by you. So if you're checking the website, those top 10 songs are a little dated. So the music crew is coming back this month. Make sure you get signed up
