[00:00:00] Speaker A: This is the Morning Journey. Rewind with Mark and Brittany. Never miss a moment this week on.
[00:00:05] Speaker B: The Morning Journey podcast. Thanks to you, the Journey has made their partner invitation goal. Thank you for helping us spread the hope of Christ to others. Also, did you know that Mark doesn't like breakfast for dinner? And Brittany finally finds out what was in the package from Ireland.
[00:00:21] Speaker C: Well, we have some good news and a big thank you to everyone who prayed and donated during our partner invitation. So when we ended up the fundraiser on Friday the 19th, we were just at 90, 85% of the goal reached. What we do is we keep it open the following week because a lot of times people were not able to donate for whatever reason and they want to support the station. And so we'll keep it open. You can donate then online.
And with that, we have reached 101% of the goal. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And thank you not just for donating, but for truly being a part of impacting lives. We know that each day someone that is listening to the journey is hearing that they are loved by God and that Christ makes a difference in their life.
[00:01:05] Speaker D: And we've been able to share that hope of Jesus for the last 10 years because of you. And we do that every partner. We leave it open the week after. And so thank you so much for giving and for supporting us. We have reached the goal. We're so, so excited to continue to spread life, hope and music here on the Journey.
[00:01:21] Speaker A: Your day starts with encouragement, the Morning Journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:01:25] Speaker C: All right, I'm going to just come out and say this.
I do not like breakfast food for dinner.
There, I said it. It's out there.
[00:01:33] Speaker D: You're gonna upset a lot of people.
[00:01:35] Speaker C: I don't want pancakes at 7:00 clock at night.
[00:01:38] Speaker D: Well, don't eat dinner at 7:00 clock at night. What's wrong with them?
[00:01:40] Speaker C: I don't want them at 6 o' clock at night.
[00:01:42] Speaker D: You don't like any breakfast for dinner?
[00:01:45] Speaker C: I don't want no bacon, eggs.
No. The thought of that. Sausage and eggs for dinner literally about makes me sick.
[00:01:53] Speaker D: Really.
[00:01:53] Speaker C: And I know I've told people this and I've been called un American and everything else.
[00:02:00] Speaker D: Well, I guess you're not coming over for dinner tonight. Cause we are having breakfast. Are you really? Yeah, we had breakfast. Food left over. What are you having from breakfast? So we're gonna do like sausage, egg, bagels, and like the leftover bacon that we have. I might make some waffles to go with it. I don't Know, we'll see. No, seriously?
[00:02:17] Speaker C: Yeah, I just. There's two people in my. It's me and my niece.
[00:02:20] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:02:20] Speaker C: Everybody else in my family loves it. They love eating breakfast food for dinner, and the two of us do not like it.
[00:02:26] Speaker D: It's so hard to come up with meals every week. Like, this is such an easy one. Breakfast for dinner. It's so easy. It's so easy. It's so good.
[00:02:34] Speaker C: So is spaghetti.
[00:02:35] Speaker D: You'll eat breakfast at breakfast time.
[00:02:37] Speaker C: So is lasagna.
[00:02:38] Speaker D: Yeah, but you eat soup, breakfast, steak at breakfast time. Right.
[00:02:42] Speaker C: Pizza.
[00:02:44] Speaker D: So what is it about the time of day that makes the breakfast food that's good at breakfast, not good at dinner?
[00:02:49] Speaker C: Breakfast food is supposed to be eaten in the morning.
[00:02:52] Speaker D: All right, I'm posting it on our Facebook page. Mind your EFM on Facebook. Or call us at 800-424-9594. We need to know, is Mark alone in this? I think everyone likes breakfast for dinner.
Well, you know what I did last night for dinner?
[00:03:06] Speaker C: Well, I don't think I want to know.
[00:03:08] Speaker D: I ate a sausage and egg biscuit with some toast and some bacon. Even had myself a cup of coffee at 6:15 at night. How's that make you feel, Mark?
[00:03:20] Speaker C: Not well. Not well.
So I confessed yesterday that I do not like breakfast food for dinner. And we knew that this was going to get some reactions and it did.
[00:03:30] Speaker D: Yes. We have it posted on our Facebook if you want to chime in. I like what? Chad.
Yeah, why not? It's a fun thing to do once in a while with the kids. In fact, Chad also, they had blueberry pancakes and sausage for dinner last night, so. He also had dinner for breakfast, Bought.
[00:03:43] Speaker C: A sausage for dinner. I just. I can't do it.
[00:03:46] Speaker D: Whoa. I can't do it. I don't get it.
[00:03:49] Speaker C: Melissa is one of the very few that is with me. She says, no, I'm with Mark. Breakfast is only the first meal of the day.
[00:03:58] Speaker D: Well, it depends on when you eat the first meal of the day. Maybe you eat it for dinner and then you can have breakfast for dinner.
[00:04:03] Speaker C: That rules you out about breakfast for dinner, which I admitted yesterday that I do not like that at all.
[00:04:12] Speaker D: Which is weird because it's not like you don't like breakfast foods.
[00:04:15] Speaker C: Oh, no, I eat like. Yeah. Waffles, bacon and eggs, sausage. All of that for breakfast is fine. I can't do it for dinner.
[00:04:22] Speaker D: Why?
[00:04:22] Speaker C: I don't know. It's just something that just kind of turns my stomach, to be honest with you. I don't like It. So Dustin says, I'm with Mark. And then he adds, I don't even want breakfast at breakfast.
[00:04:33] Speaker D: Wow. Okay.
[00:04:34] Speaker C: Dustin Zorona says Brynner is the best. She calls it brinner.
[00:04:39] Speaker D: So if you call it brinner, would you be more inclined to eat it?
[00:04:42] Speaker C: That is a little bit better. Brinner.
[00:04:43] Speaker D: Yeah. See? See, Maybe we're getting ready to come on board now. Kathy. I like what she said. She said over the years, I've just decided that these all, like, the food rules are kind of just made up. Like, who cares? Food's food. Eat what you want when you want. She said, just not as much as you want.
[00:05:01] Speaker E: I just kind of channel surfing through the radio.
[00:05:03] Speaker A: Families are catching on, and I'm like.
[00:05:05] Speaker E: Wow, this is pretty cool.
[00:05:06] Speaker A: To the best way.
[00:05:07] Speaker E: So now this is the only thing I listen to now to wake my style of Everything has started and changed.
[00:05:11] Speaker A: It's the morning journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:05:14] Speaker C: Back a while ago, Brittany had mentioned that she got this package from Ireland, but you had to wait before you could open it. See, we didn't know what it was.
[00:05:23] Speaker D: Right. I had no idea what it was. And so finally we did our little at home date night the other night, and I was like, ooh, is this the Ireland package? And I'm finally gonna figure it out, like, what we got from Ireland. And my husband was like, yeah, but don't get excited because, well, once I opened it, I realized you couldn't like. I don't know why it was from Ireland. I don't know why it came from Ireland. But it was a board game for us to play, like a new board game. So apparently where he bought it from the guy who, like, made it and sold it is in Ireland.
[00:05:50] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:05:51] Speaker D: And so he had to pay international shipping on a board game.
It was fun, though. I will say it was fun. Had nothing to do with Ireland. Was not like Irish cheese or anything like that.
[00:06:02] Speaker C: Trivia. Irish trivia.
[00:06:03] Speaker D: No Irish trivia. Nope.
Just came from Ireland, apparently.
[00:06:08] Speaker A: Start on a positive note. You're on the morning journey with Mark and Brittany.

[00:06:54] Speaker A: You're on the morning journey with Mark and Brittany Rose.
[00:06:57] Speaker C: Virginia, now the peach capital of the world. They have grown the world's heaviest peach. 1.83 pounds.
[00:07:05] Speaker D: This is crazy because, you know, like, Georgia is known for peaches, so I never thought Crozet, Virginia would be on the map for peaches, of all things. But, yeah, Chiles orchard coming in at 1.83 pounds, the heaviest peach on record.
Just barely, though. The previous record was 1.8 pounds, so 0.03 got the nudge there.
[00:07:25] Speaker C: So they weren't trying to grow the world's heaviest peach. They say that the weather conditions just lined up for them to be able to grow that kind of peach. I didn't know this that they categorize peaches. So this is the PF27A variety, which sounds like sunscreen.
[00:07:41] Speaker D: It does, actually.
Yeah. So, yeah. Pretty cool. And I mean, how did they know to weigh it? Yeah, they were just like, oh, it's huge. Let's weigh it and see.
[00:07:51] Speaker C: And what happens to it? Does it go into the Guinness book of world records, like, museum? Or do you.
[00:07:57] Speaker D: No, somebody gets to eat it.
[00:07:58] Speaker C: Right? Turn that thing into peach pie.
[00:08:00] Speaker D: Yeah. Or cobbler. Ooh, I love a good peach cobbler.
[00:08:04] Speaker A: From the alarm to the workplace, helping you start your day.
[00:08:07] Speaker C: I'm on my way to work.
[00:08:08] Speaker A: It's the morning journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:08:11] Speaker C: Well, a little girl is waking up to the harsh reality of kindergarten. Mackenzie, when she started school, was shocked to learn there are no naps. And a viral video is out there of Mackenzie telling her mom all about it.
[00:08:25] Speaker D: Yeah, she was pretty upset.
[00:08:26] Speaker C: She was.
[00:08:27] Speaker B: I said, I didn't take no nap at kindergarten.
I was trying to go to sleep at P.E. i couldn't take a nap in the classroom. I couldn't take a nap in anywhere. I was so tired.
[00:08:40] Speaker D: I think we all can relate to that. Sometimes you're just so tired, you just want to take a nap.
[00:08:44] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:08:44] Speaker D: She said, mom, why did you sign me up for kindergarten? She's like, what do you want them to do? Like, kindergartens nap? I thought kindergarteners did nap, actually.
[00:08:51] Speaker C: So she fell asleep. Eventually her mom went through McDonald's and she fell asleep in the backseat while she was eating her french fries.
[00:08:58] Speaker D: Aw. See, she eventually got her nap, but. Yeah, I just assumed kindergarteners napped. I guess they don't.
[00:09:02] Speaker C: I did too. I thought they did.
[00:09:04] Speaker D: Stella's gonna have a rude awakening in a couple years. Cause she still gets her naps.
[00:09:07] Speaker C: Now, don't you sign me up for this, Mom.
[00:09:09] Speaker D: Why?
[00:09:10] Speaker A: Good company makes for a great day. The Morning Journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:09:15] Speaker C: I have never experienced motion sickness or car sickness, but I know a lot of people do. I had a friend of mine that was a high school soccer coach for a while. And when they would travel, he had to sit up at the front and then look straight ahead. He could not take his eyes off the road or he would get sick.
[00:09:32] Speaker D: Yeah, my husband's sister, she's like that. She used to sit up front. Otherwise she'll get sick. And we had her in the backseat one time going on a ski trip up the mountains in those windy roads. And let's just say it did not end well for any of us. So. Yeah. So one thing, though, that's really cool is the journey. If you listen to the journey, it can actually help you on long road trips, not get motion sick.
[00:09:52] Speaker C: Scientific fact.
[00:09:54] Speaker D: Look at that.
[00:09:54] Speaker C: That is not just opinion. So new study is out that says soft music or upbeat, joyful music can reduce motion sickness by over 50%.
[00:10:04] Speaker D: That's crazy. So now, next time you're feeling a little woozy in the car, turn on the journey, and you're gonna be just fine.
[00:10:12] Speaker A: Your day starts with encouragement. The Morning Journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:10:16] Speaker C: Appreciate you listening and appreciate you letting us know if a song has impacted your life.
[00:10:22] Speaker D: Yeah, we love hearing from you. And Denise was listening last week, and she wrote in, she said, I think it was you guys that were talking about, like, the hearing your mom's voice is like getting a hug. And I was like, yeah, that was us. She said, for her, it's so true. She said she was blessed to be able to move in with her parents after she went through an unexpected divorce. And just hearing her mom's voice from somewhere else in the house was like feeling a hug from her. She said each attorney meeting she went to, she would call her mom afterwards. And because it was just a comfort feeling. And she said even in the months and weeks and days leading up to her going to be with Jesus, she was so comforted just by hearing her voice. Wow. She said, oh, how I'd love to hear it again. What a blessing. It is to have a godly mom and even sweeter to know that we'll see each other again someday. So. Aw. Thanks, Denise, for sharing that listening. And yeah, so now you know, like, if you hear your mom's voice, don't take that for granted. It is like getting a hug.
[00:11:15] Speaker E: I just kind of channel surfing through the radio.
[00:11:17] Speaker A: Families are catching on and I'm like.
[00:11:19] Speaker E: Wow, this is pretty cool to the best way. But now this is the only thing I listen to now to wake up. My style of everything has started and changed.
[00:11:25] Speaker A: It's the morning journey with Mark and Brittany.
[00:11:28] Speaker C: Well, we are hearing about a lot of people going back to church, rededicating their lives to Christ and reading their Bible over the last few weeks due to some of the events that have happened in our country in recent days. But we have to be careful because that can fade if you do not actively seek God. So just to encourage you this morning, some things that you can then use to encourage your family and friends to stay committed to Christ. And one of those is cultivating your own relationship with Christ. When you do that, others will see that and see you living that out, and then that will encourage them.
[00:12:06] Speaker D: It really does start with you. You have to make sure you're firm in your faith, and that leads into not compromising your beliefs as well and making sure you're living in a way that's different and looks different. Also, make sure you pray for those in your life that you're trying to witness to. I have a list of people that I pray for their salvation every day, because if I don't, who will is the way I think of it. And I'm hoping that other people will, but just in case. And then this one really always convicts me because our church is starting this thing where you can start your own small group. And I'm always like, I wish we had a group for this. And then my husband looks at me and he's like, you know, if you ask for that, they're gonna make you start it.
[00:12:44] Speaker C: They'll do it.
[00:12:44] Speaker D: So that is always one that I struggle with because it's so good to be in a community of believers. So having a small group is a great way to encourage your faith walk.
[00:12:53] Speaker C: I went to a number of a church a number of years ago, and that's the first church I had ever been to where they actually had small groups. And we built like a really strong group. We had that. It was for a number of years, we all stayed together.
And it encourages you so much and holds you accountable but also it gives you an opportunity to do ministry together. There are so many opportunities that we had to minister in the community and then minister to each other outside of the larger church body and so you really do build a sense of community, a sense of a group of believers that are praying for each other and then the final thing is just to love like Jesus loved. And when you really study that study, really study how Christ loved people and what he did and it will change your life but then in doing so it will change other people's lives.
[00:13:48] Speaker D: That's the great part about being in community with believers is you can minister and love the community around you and also when you're going through it those people are there to support you and point you back to Jesus and let you know it's going to be okay. So we hope you are encouraged in your faith today.
[00:14:04] Speaker A: Thanks for catching up on the morning Journey Rewind podcast with Mark and Brittany.
